Soldiers to celebrate military kids

April is the Month of the Military Child. To celebrate the children of men and women of the U.S. Army, Soldiers Live wants to feature stories about amazing Army kids and the outstanding organizations that support them. (U.S. Army photo)

Soldiers magazine is looking for original content from throughout the Army highlighting military kids and the Army organizations that support them. Selected content will be featured on Soldiers Live throughout the month of April in celebration of Month of the Military Child.

If you have a story about an outstanding military child, or one that highlights the great work of an Army unit or organization that has gone above and beyond to support Army kids, Soldiers would love to share it. Submissions should include a feature story (1,200-1,800 words) and six to 10 fully captioned and credited images.

To be considered for top placement on Soldiers Live, submissions should include an extreme horizontal lead image (photos box dimensions are 875 x 305 pixels at 72 dpi). Minimum size and resolution for all other images should be 5 x7 or 7 x 5 inches at 72 dpi. To view how your content will be displayed, visit Soldiers Live at http://soldiers.dodlive.mil/.

Please submit original, previously unpublished stories to soldierseditor@dma.mil. Include the author’s contact information, and use the subject line “Army kids story.” Any questions should be directed via email to Carrie McLeroy, Soldiers magazine editor in chief, at carrie.mcleroy@dma.mil. Deadline for submissions is April 15.
