Humanitarian de-mining in Sri Lanka

Staff Sgt. Robert Ham, USARPAC Public Affairs, brings us a short documentary about the post-civil war de-mining efforts in Sri Lanka by the Sri Lankan Government and the international community, led by the U.S. military. American explosive ordnance disposal technicians train alongside the Sri Lankan engineers while American military medical teams train the engineers on their medical techniques. The training culminates with a realistic exercise that tests the Sri Lankan soldiers’ ability to respond to a mine exploding, leading to multiple casualties.
