Soldier, artist, educator

Former Sgt. and current high school art teacher Ron Whitehead poses with one of his paintings, “Walking Wounded.” Most of Whitehead’s artwork uses the colors of red, white and blue, partly as an artistic challenge, partly to represent his patriotism and military service. Another of Whitehead’s paintings will hang at the Pentagon for a year as part of an exhibit sponsored by the Veteran Artist Program. (Photo courtesy of former Sgt. Ron Whitehead)
