A Look at the Locals

When he wasn’t serving as a cook with the 77th Infantry Division in the Pacific theater during World War II, Sgt. Angelo Gepponi would use his artistic talents to depict scenes from daily life around camp, like this sketch of locals. Gepponi’s combat works will be displayed in the “Cook, Pot and Palette” exhibit at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, until December 2015.
