Sketch of a Local Man

When he wasn’t serving as a cook with the 77th Infantry Division during World War II, Sgt. Angelo Gepponi would use his artistic talents to depict scenes from daily life around his Pacific theater camps, like this sketch of a local man. Gepponi’s combat works will be displayed in the “Cook, Pot and Palette” exhibit at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, until December 2015.
